NIWA

After a year of planning and construction the brand new field offices for NIWA were opened with a blessing carried out in November by local rūnanga.

Built by our Twizel based team, the build features a drive-through garage workshop area, lab and office areas. Able to accommodate nine people, it’s been a specially designed to get the optimal use of the local field team’s time, who’s coverage stretches from the snowy mountains at the Main Divide to the North Otago and South Canterbury coasts. 

Designed with considerations such as sustainability and the remote location in mind, the 480m2 offices feature a Logic warm roof system and in ground 22,000L tank to capture water off the garage roof to supply the irrigation system. Two EV chargers and solar panels have also been installed.

The client and community were delighted with the overall project. Our team were recognised for their efforts on site maintenance and efficiency.
