The Ministry of Education engaged Cook Brothers Construction Southern Lakes for a new $2 million learning facility at Cromwell Primary School. The facility consisted of a block of four classrooms, a learning hub and carpark as part of the Ministry of Educations Roll Growth Programme. The much-needed addition to Cromwell Primary School well received by the teachers, students and their families at an opening in May 2019.
Our Southern Lakes Cook Brothers team began construction on a greenfield site located within a live school environment requiring vigilant health and safety measures to ensure the safety of the students at all times. Our Site Manager, in particular, worked closely with the school to provide and deliver small additions when requested.
Cook Brothers Construction is proud of our work alongside the Ministry, creating spaces to inspire young minds. The design of this facility allows for flexible configurations for multi-faceted learning, allowing the students' imaginations to run wild in a fully adaptable learning space. Quality was at the forefront of this project, with the school very much in need of modern facilities to meet the growing needs of the students.
A real highlight for this build was the innovative learning space, and especially the acoustic performance of the building. Featuring a 'makerspace' with a fitted kitchen and areas for green screening, robotics and over seven different configurations for learning the space is built for engaged learning.
Cook Brothers are proud to continue our relationship with the Ministry of Education and to have delivered on time and to budget this versatile and engaging 'Hub' at Cromwell Primary School. Both modern and functional will be a great learning space for the students.
