Cook Brothers Construction was engaged in an Early Contractor Involvement procurement model for the two-stage overhaul and extension of the Queenstown Airport Airways Control Tower. This project was completed within the airfield and all work was completed on airside.
In the months leading up to construction Cook Brothers Construction were involved in PCG meetings along with the consultant teams to get the design completed. Once this was in place work commenced which involved relocating the current Control Tower team, then works started with the demolition of the old facility. The new build was a timber and steel structure with a Colorsteel roof and Alucobond and Aluminium New Wall Cladding. Once the exterior envelope was completed the interior fitout was completed providing Airways with a new modern state of the art facility.
