It's time to get wiggy! This September, Cook Brothers Construction donned their wacky wigs for Child Cancer Foundations major fundraiser - Wig Wednesday.
Every week in New Zealand, three families will hear the devastating news that their child has cancer, and for some chemotherapy means facing the world with no hair. Wig Wednesday was created as a fun day for everyday Kiwis in schools, businesses, and community groups to come together in a show of support by wearing wigs, shaving their heads, or styling funky hair-dos for a day.
So on Wednesday 9 September 2020, Cook Brothers participated in Wig Wednesday as a show of support. Our teams got together, wore their wigs and shared morning tea. Collectively we raised over $1,900 for the Child Cancer Foundation.
The Child Cancer Foundation has supported thousands of Kiwi families for over 40 years providing tailored, personalised support to each family. The Foundation doesn't receive any direct government funding and relies on the generosity of others to keep up their excellent work. All the amazing people who got wiggy last year raised over $100,000! Every little bit counts.
