Leading Hand

About the Role

We are experiencing continued growth throughout the business and are currently seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our Wānaka Team.

This is a hands-on role, where you will lead and set a positive example. Working collaboratively and taking directions from Site Managers/Build Team Managers and/or Foreman’s to ensure projects are completed to a high standard and within set timeframes.

Duties:

• Liaise effectively and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders while maintaining a high service quality
• Lead and assist the team both on and off the tools to meet project demands and timelines
• Mitigating Risks with a solution-based approach
• Providing leadership support as directed by Build Team/Site Manager
• Be the point of contact between contractors, apprentices, labourers, and the Foreman and/or Site Manager
• Provide clear direction and task allocation on tasks that need to be completed

Skills and Experience:

• Must have NZ/AUS recognised Carpentry qualification
• Commercial build experience with structural experience is a must
• Experience in a Leadership role within the Construction Industry is a must
• A passion for leading and mentoring teams with the ability to recognise the successes of others in your team
• High level of communication skills with the ability to have “tough” conversations
• Solid IT skills – MS Office suite a must
• Leadership of Health and Safety
• High end residential experience an advantage
• Licence Building Practitioner preferred but not essential
