About the Role:

The role of an Estimator for Cook Brothers Construction, involves preparing accurate costs estimates, managing tender bids, conducting viability assessments and overseeing the tender process. Your strong stakeholder management and communication skills will be key to maintaining positive relationships both internally and externally.

We offer flexible work location options with this role, with opportunities available in Otago, Queenstown, Wānaka, Auckland or Canterbury

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the National Pre-Construction Manager, the main responsibilities of the Estimator role will be:

  • Managing tender documentation and bid submissions
  • Preparing tenders ranging from $500K to $20M+
  • Accurately measure and price builder's quantities
  • Cultivating strong industry relationships
  • Sourcing and evaluating quotes from trade partners and suppliers
  • Analysing data related to land, buildings, or construction projects
  • Conducting thorough due diligence to interpret the cost implications of tender documentation

Skills and Experience:

You will have demonstrated post graduate experience within Commercial Construction, estimating for main contractors (Tier 2 preferred), alongside:

  • Bachelor of Construction Management (Quantity Surveyor – Construction Economics advantageous) or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in measuring a variety of projects, including new builds and fit outs
  • Proficiency with various estimating and project management software systems
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities
