Apprentice Carpenter

About the Role

Cook Brothers Construction are currently seeking two Apprentice Carpenters to join their Wānaka team, working on a full-time basis 45 hours a week. This is a great opportunity to join an innovative and collaborative construction company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with experienced carpenters completing a range of tasks including concrete work, framing, hardware, insulation, joinery, site works, trims and finishing, windows and doors, erecting walls, building stairs and other construction related tasks
• Safely operating hand and power tools to cut, shape and smooth materials
• Taking measurements and calculating size and amount of material required
• Participate in all activities set out in the Apprentice Training Program and work cooperatively with the Apprenticeship Trainer

Skills and Experience:

• Must have at least 12 months of solid experience within the Commercial Construction industry within New Zealand
• Have a high level of positive communication both verbal and written
• Understanding of Zero Harm in the Workplace
• Ability to work and effectively contribute to a close working team
• Current New Zealand Drivers Licence
• Have an intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Outlook
• Ability to work independently
• Must have permanent New Zealand work rights
