About the Role
Cook Brothers Construction are currently seeking two Apprentice Carpenters to join their Wānaka team, working on a full-time basis 45 hours a week. This is a great opportunity to join an innovative and collaborative construction company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with experienced carpenters completing a range of tasks including concrete work, framing, hardware, insulation, joinery, site works, trims and finishing, windows and doors, erecting walls, building stairs and other construction related tasks
- Safely operating hand and power tools to cut, shape and smooth materials
- Taking measurements and calculating size and amount of material required
- Participate in all activities set out in the Apprentice Training Program and work cooperatively with the Apprenticeship Trainer
Skills and Experience:
- Must have at least 12 months of solid experience within the Commercial Construction industry within New Zealand
- Have a high level of positive communication both verbal and written
- Understanding of Zero Harm in the Workplace
- Ability to work and effectively contribute to a close working team
- Current New Zealand Drivers Licence
- Have an intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to work independently
- Must have permanent New Zealand work rights
